My mom very kindly did some modeling for me... I'd show you her face, but every time I took one with her face in it she said I had to delete it.  Of course I took way too many  pictures, but how could I resist?

As you will remember I was knitting this shawl on a deadline... the wedding is the 24th... phew. The shawl is now in the bride's hands and I know is very well loved. I was so happy that I could do this for a dear friend for such a special day. I was also very happy to be finished on time. The pattern is beautiful, well written and easy to follow. I highly recommend purchasing from Anne at knitspot- she couldn't be more helpful, or fast at answering e-mails. Also, her patterns are gorgeous. As far as lace goes I wouldn't rate this as terribly difficult, the first two patterns were fairly easy to memorize and I was able to cruise through and watch tv or sit on the deck and visit. For some reason though, I did have a little more trouble with the corona edging. It really did require my attention. Also, I wish that I would have cast off a little more loosely- it would have made the corona's a little more wavy when I blocked. I did use a size 10 needle to cast off, but I'm notorious for casting off tightly anyway. Speaking of blocking, it was made much easier by the generous lone of some blocking wires by Andrea. Without them I would have been in a little trouble because even with them I ended up using all of my 300 pins and of course I was blocking at 10 PM when there were no stores open. Thanks Andrea!

So this weekend it's a wedding for me and then I have to start working again...  I've been enjoying my time off by doing nearly nothing, knitting a lot (I have more to show you and I will I promise) and enjoying being back in my hometown.
